Precautions for vacuum pump selection
Release time:2024-11-07 Browse:  Order

Choosing the right vacuum pump will become a very important part of our daily production. This article discusses the most basic knowledge of vacuum pump selection:

When choosing a vacuum pump, the first thing to consider is the main requirements and performance that are most important when selecting a vacuum pump. After the pump meets these requirements, other selection requirements can be considered. Generally, when selecting, the following things should be noted:

1. The working pressure of the vacuum pump should meet the maximum vacuum and working pressure requirements of the vacuum equipment. For example, vacuum coating requires 1× The maximum vacuum degree of the selected vacuum pump should be between 10-5 mBar; 10-6 mBar。 Usually, the vacuum degree of the pump should be half to one order of magnitude higher than that of the vacuum equipment.

2. Correctly select the working vacuum degree of the vacuum pump. Each pump has a certain working pressure range, for example, the ultimate vacuum degree of SVF-E1-20 is 0.1mBar, and its stable working pressure range is 1.0mbar to 0.5mbar. Therefore, the working point of the pump should be selected within this range.

3. The vacuum pump should be able to discharge all the gas generated during the vacuum equipment process within a specified time under its working pressure, which requires consideration of the pumping rate of the vacuum pump under load to some extent.

4. Choose a vacuum pump selectively based on the type of medium being pumped. If a pump cannot meet the pumping requirements, multiple pump combinations can also be considered. The pumping rate curves of SVF-E1-20 when pumping oil-free air and helium gas are different, so when considering vacuum pumps, the characteristics of the pumped medium should be fully considered.

5. Understand the composition of the extracted gas, including whether it contains condensable vapor, whether there are particles or dust, and whether it is corrosive or toxic. When choosing a vacuum pump, it is necessary to know the composition of the gas being pumped and select the corresponding pump for the gas being pumped. If there is corrosive gas, the material of the pump chamber should be made of corrosion-resistant materials; If it is a toxic gas, the vacuum pump also needs to consider the issue of leakage rate to avoid industrial accidents caused by toxic gas leakage. If it contains condensable vapor, particles, and corrosive gases, auxiliary equipment such as condensers and dust collectors can also be installed on the inlet pipeline of the pump.

6. Requirements for oil pollution in vacuum equipment. If the equipment strictly requires no oil, various oil-free oil pumps should be selected, such as water ring pumps, oil-free vortex pumps, oil-free screw pumps, etc. If the equipment also has strict requirements for water vapor, dust, etc., oil-free dry pumps should be selected, such as vortex dry pumps, screw dry pumps, molecular pumps, etc. If the requirements are not strict, you can choose to have an oil pump and add some anti oil pollution measures, such as adding cold traps, baffles, oil blocking traps, etc., which can also meet the requirements of clean vacuum.

7. The impact of vacuum pumps on the environment. The environment does not allow any oil pollution, and oil-free vacuum pumps can be used; Dust pollution is not allowed in the environment, and pumps that do not generate abrasives, such as floating vortex pumps, oil-free diaphragm pumps, etc., can be used; Noise pollution is not allowed in the environment, and a silent pump can be used.

8. Does the vibration generated during the operation of the vacuum pump have any impact on the process and environment. If the process does not allow it, a vibration free pump should be selected or anti vibration measures should be taken.

9. Cost factors. The cost of vacuum pumps should consider both one-time procurement costs and comprehensive usage costs. One time cost, including the cost of the vacuum pump itself and the cost of supporting surrounding pipelines; The comprehensive usage cost includes daily operation and maintenance costs, maintenance costs, and service life costs.

10. Other special requirements. Mainly including AC/DC power supply, power consumption, weight, volume, electronic control, heat dissipation, gas pipeline connection, and targeted requirements for various industries.
